Geraldine Lorraine (Clark) Scamahorn, 90, a longtime resident of Leavenworth, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Cashmere. Geraldine was born on March 20, 1919, to Glen and Georgia (Cronn) Clark at Wilbur, WA. At a young age, Geraldine's mother died, at which time she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Maude and Harvey Elliot, at Wenatchee, where she attended school, later graduating from Wenatchee High School. In 1941, she married Marshall Scamahorn and the couple made their home in Cashmere and later, Waterville and in 1945, they moved to Leavenworth, where she had lived ever since. After the birth of their daughter, Jean in 1942, and the birth of their son, John in 1945, Geraldine enjoyed being a homemaker, but she still found time to work as a seamstress for Honeysett Cleaners in Leavenworth for many years. Geraldine was a 71 year member of the Rebekah Lodge #141 in Wenatchee, where she held many offices; a member of the Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church in Leavenworth; and she was also very active for many years in the Chelan County Fair.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Vorrath of Kirkland; son, John Scamahorn of Leavenworth; brother, Bernard Clark of Colville; grandchildren, Sarah Brester of Kirkland, Melody Vorrath of Florida, Lori Ecklund of Marysville and Joi Majack of East Wenatchee; great-grandchildren, Aimee and Hayden Brester, Loni Beaty and Max VanIterson; numerous nieces and nephews; the special girls in her life, Julie Mullady and Traci Pilkington; and the many caregivers who helped in so many ways. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall; two brothers, Jack and Ken Clark; and her sister, Merle Brainerd.

A Private Family Service with Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Mt. View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Geraldine's name, to the Leavenworth Senior Center at P.O. Box 1033, Leavenworth, WA 98826. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
