WENATCHEE — An annual holiday concert featuring one of the region’s top gospel quintets will expand this year to feature comedy, skits and a choir of some of the area’s most accomplished singers.
“A Christmas Celebration,” the annual concert of CommonBond 5, will also be the release party for the group’s sixth compact disc, entitled “Come Out of the Wilderness.”
Two performances of the song celebration will be presented at 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee.
Tickets, available at the PAC box office, are $15 in advance and $17 at the door.
“We’ve expanded the show to include some of the best voices in the Wenatchee Valley,” said Chuck Wiley, spokesman and bass singer for the local quintet.
“And it’s sort of evolved to be more than a concert — it’s a true celebration of the Christmas spirit.”
The choir of hand-picked singers will sing backup for CommonBond 5 and also perform their own round of holiday songs.
CommonBond 5 will present 20 minutes of material from their new CD, said Wiley, then present some of their favorite Christmas songs.
