Lillian Emaline (Reinhart-Bjornstad) Byrum
Tuesday, October 6, 2009
Lillian Byrum was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2009, and was thus reunited with her husband of 67 years, Richard Byrum, Sr., who had gone ahead of her on August 9, 2009. She was born September 9, 1924, in Rathdrum, ID, the third child of Irene and Roy Reinhart. Mr. Reinhart passed away in December of 1925, and Irene subsequently met and married William Bjornstad. The three children took his surname. She attended schools in Rathdrum and Coeur d'Alene, ID. In 1942, she met Richard H. Byrum, Sr. They married at the Hitching Post in Coeur d'Alene on July 25th of that year. Lil loved people! She was her husband's hunting and fishing partner, as well as thoroughly enjoying her children and home. She had a heart overflowing with kindness for people in need and loved ministering to family and friends. She was a classy lady, queen of "set another place at the table; we have unexpected guests." Her ministry in life, was to make life more pleasant for others.
She is survived by daughter, Judy (Claude) Graves of Sequim, WA; sons, Richard (Suzanne) Byrum, Jr. of Everett, WA and Douglas (Susan) Byrum of Edmonds, WA; seven grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Broesch; and brothers, George Reinhart, Stanley (Karen) Bjornstad and Robert (Diane) Bjornstad. Lillian was preceded in death by her sister; and her grandson, Michael Ingram.
Lil was dearly loved by all and we will miss her bright smile and unrelenting cheerfulness.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 805 W. Casino Road, Everett, WA 98204.
