SEATTLE — Washington Trails Association’s popular online hiking guide at wta.org, which features detailed information and on over 2,500 hiking trails, just got a whole lot better.
Content from all six of books in The Mountaineers Books’ Day Hiking series is now available on the WTA’s online hiking guide. Some 600 new entries contain trail stats and descriptions straight for hikes throughout the Olympics and Cascades.
“We are so excited to launch this partnership with The Mountaineers Books and authors that brings well-researched, valuable content directly to our website visitors,” said Lauren Braden, WTA’s communications director.
“Having many of our signature hikes available online at WTA exposes our authors and their guidebooks to new readers, said Shanna Knowlton, publicist for The Mountaineers Books. “Tapping into this digital cross-over market is exactly what makes us competitive in today’s outdoor- and guidebook categories.”
Sales of all titles in the Mountaineers Books’ Day Hiking series benefit WTA and help protect and maintain trails.
Hikers can contribute to WTA’s Hiking Guide by submitting photos, rating hikes, entering trail attributes, and more. Hikers can also submit trip reports for hikes that tell stories of their own trail adventures and report current conditions.
