WASILLA, Alaska — The Wenatchee Wild and Alaska Avalanche came into Friday night’s game with two of the best goaltending tandems in the league.

But in the first meeting of the year between the two teams with the best records in the West Division, it was the Avs’ Landon Peterson who had the upper hand. Peterson stopped 25 shots on the way to a 4-0 shutout victory.

It’s the first time the Wild has been shut out this season.

Wenatchee’s Mac Carruth made 31 saves, but allowed four goals, starting with Jake Parenteau’s power play score at 8:28 of the first period.

Logan Rounds made it 2-0 with a second-period goal, and Parenteau and Blake Huppert added third-period goals for the Avalanche, who have played seven fewer games than the Wild and trail the Wenatchee team by 13 points in the West Division standings.
