EAST WENATCHEE — The first week of championship races at the Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval is set for Saturday.
Closing out their seasons will be the B-modifieds, Bump-2-Pass, Thunder Cars and Pure Stocks.
The most interesting race of the night should prove to be in the Thunder Cars, where John Gouze (1,209 points) leads Bill Harvey by just one point for the lead. There’s also a dogfight for third place, with John Klinginsmith (1,175), Bobby Jarolimik (1,174) and Tom Went (1,163) all in the mix.
Another tight battle will be for the B-modifieds championships, where Shane Mitchell (1,154 points) is just three points ahead of Zig Grunet, who in turn is only three points in front of Chad Holaday.
In Pure Stocks, Matt Bruggman leads with 1,160 points, but Michelle Kennedy is back by only 10 points, and Gerald Turner III is just another 20 back of her.
In the Bump-2-Pass, Bob Morley (846 points) comes into Saturday with a healthy lead over second-place Chris Lamken (771). Lee Jaromilek is in third with 695 points.
