WENATCHEE — Triple Crown Sports, a nationally renowned baseball tournament promoter based in Fort Collins, Colo., has selected the Wenatchee Valley to host a season-opening tournament for teams of kids aged 9-14.
Drew Reiners, Triple Crown’s director for Northwest events, said the Wenatchee Valley’s climate, central location and established facilities helped the area’s cause.
“This area is beautiful and reminds me a lot of our headquarters in Fort Collins. Its central location in Washington and drier weather in the spring makes it a perfect venue for a kickoff tournament for youth around the region,” Reiners said.
The anticipated 30 or more teams at the tournament will use fields at Walla Walla Point Park, Hydro Park, Dan White Field, Paul Thomas Sr. Field and more.
