EAST WENATCHEE — Championships in four classes were decided Saturday night during Jerry Berschauer Memorial weekend at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval.
B Modifieds
Shane Mitchell had the points race sewn up heading into Saturday’s final race. He celebrated by taking the checkered flag.
Mitchell, of Wenatchee, finished off his second straight championship season with the victory. Chris Ochs was second, and Mike Roberts finished third.
Zig Grunert, the runner-up in the points race, 129 points behind Mitchell, was fourth.
Bump to Pass
Lee Jarolimek won the battle, but Bob Morley won the war.
Jarolimek held off Mike Charles to win Saturday’s final race, but Morley’s fourth-place finish was good enough to give him the victory in the points race by 72 points over Chris Lamken. Mike Charles finished second in Saturday’s race, and Lamken was third.
Thunder Cars
Trucker Moore of Wenatchee held off East Wenatchee’s Bobby Jarolimek and Bill Harvey of Malaga for the win in the feature race.
Final point standings were unavailable at press time.
Pure Stocks
Matt Bruggman of Wenatchee finished fourth in the feature, which was more than enough to wrap up the points title. Bruggman beat Michelle Kennedy by 39 points in the final standings.
Gustavo Martinez took the lead on lap 19 and held on the rest of the way for the win Saturday. Devin Pirnat ran second, and Stephanie Patty was third.
