EAST WENATCHEE — Thomas Stanford added an exclamation point to his points victory by taking the checkered flag in the Youth Hornets feature race Saturday night at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval.
Stanford was one of a handful of drivers to win titles on Saturday, the final night of racing for the season at the Super Oval. Results were not available before press time Sunday.
Stanford took the lead for good at the halfway point and held off Brandon Shrader and Ryker Agnew for the win.
Josh Childress moved past pole-sitter Chris Bates on the 13th lap, but then gave up the lead three laps later to Jesse Gray. Gray held off Childress for the win, but Childress captured his third straight points title in the class.
Garrett Archer took the lead with six laps to go and went on to the victory. Matt Henderson was second and Jesse Branham took third.
John VanGesen of Port Orchard won the Master Division points title, Henderson, of Port Orchard, took the Pro Division title and Branham, of Everson, won the Semi-Pro Division.
NW Outlaw Street Stocks
Kim Wennerberg took the lead on lap 55 of 75 and went on to win a race that saw multiple spinouts and lead changes. Kevin Carver of Spanaway won the season points title in the class.
