Monday, August 9, 2010

EAST WENATCHEE— Kevin Kwon of Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, and Alexis Keating of Elma won the boys and girls divisions in the K12 Qualifier on Sunday for this week’s AJGA Junior at Wenatchee.

Kwon fired a 3-under 69, and Keating shot 73 to claim medalist honors in what was the first AJGA event for both golfers.

The field included 72 boys and 24 girls ages 12-18 from seven states, Canada and South Korea.

Ten boys and three girls qualified for this week’s tournament based on how they finished on Sunday. The tournament starts Tuesday at Wenatchee Golf & Country Club.
