Jesse W. "Pete" Peterson, 78, a 56 year resident of Wenatchee, WA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior the evening of February 5, 2010. Jesse was born November 20, 1931, to Robert and Ethel Peterson in Gaffney, SC. He served with the armed forces in the Air Force, stationed at the Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado with the 3513th Maintenance Squadron. He met his future wife, Faye Carper of Wenatchee, while stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake, WA. They ended up at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas, where he was honorably discharged September 10, 1953. Faye and Jesse settled in Wenatchee, where he held various jobs until he became a Police Officer with the City of Wenatchee, retiring in 1983, after 29 years, ending his career as Lieutenant. He also taught drivers' training at Wenatchee High School and coached Police Pals baseball team. He loved to golf and was a member of the Leavenworth Golf Course for 26 years.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ethel Peterson. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Faye Peterson of Wenatchee; son, Gary Peterson of East Wenatchee; daughter, Beverly Seals of East Wenatchee; two brothers, R.B. (Peggy) Peterson of Rogers, AR and Virgil (Darlene) Peterson of Odessa, TX; four sisters, Maggie Hill, Margie (Bobby) Calvert, Jean Williams and Sally (Michael) Elliot, all of Gaffney, SC. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Carrie, Teri, Jason, Mystie, Jessica and Gavin. He had 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee. Pete was a fair and honest police officer. Growing up he was always fair to the kids and gave us a lot of breaks. He had all of our respect.
