Jerry "Jake" Dennis, Sr. finished his years on February 1, 2010, after a six month struggle with kidney failure and dialysis. He was a lifelong resident of Orondo, WA. Born June 30, 1937, to Melvin and Peggy (Davies) Dennis. Reborn to Jesus, July 16, 2009. He attended Orondo grade school, East Wenatchee Junior High and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1955. He married Joann Johnson on June 23, 1956. They had three children, Carol, Jerry, Jr. and Brian. Jake operated the family orchard from 1967, after the death of his dad. His pleasures were family and neighbors, hunting, the Sunday drives, snowmobiling and fast cars. Of course, the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were special to him, as well as his last big travels to Daytona, FL and Kona, HI. He helped many in the community and volunteered for the Fire Department and the Cemetery work.

Jake is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Pat. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joann; daughter, Carol (Mike) Witmer of East Wenatchee; sons, Jerry, Jr. (Kim) Dennis of Spokane and Brian (Maria) Dennis of Orondo; ten grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and five step-great-grandchildren.

The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee. Private Inurnment will take place at a later date.
