The Wenatchee Valley Appleaires host this tour stop of the famous choir, one of four touring ensembles from their Viennese home base, the Augartenpalais. The choir traces its roots to 1498, when Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I created a boys’ ensemble among his court musicians. The repertoire of the group, composed of youth singers aged 10 to 14, includes everything from medieval to contemporary and experimental music. The boys’ choir began its rise to fame with world tours starting soon after World War II, and a raft of recordings that continues today.
