D. Anthony Palmer

D. Anthony Palmer died peacefully at his home at Merrill Gardens, Kirkland, on February 21, 2010. D was born in Pocatello, ID on June 24, 1924. He graduated from Boise High School in 1942, and then served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After World War II, D returned to Boise, ID and attended Boise Junior College (became Boise State) and met and married his wife of 49 years, Nadine Slee. D's long business career with Zellerbach Paper Company started in Boise and then took he and his family to Wenatchee, WA in 1955, and to Bellevue, WA in 1961. After a long, successful career in sales and sales management, he retired in the late 1980's. D was active in the Seattle area business community, a member of the Seafair Commodores and an avid fisherman. D's true passion, was his family and friends, including following his grandson's activities and sports. D enjoyed traveling during his retirement years. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and love for life, fun and friends.
D was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Palmer; mother, Lucy Berg; father, Robert Palmer; brother, Wilfred Palmer; and sister, Rita Hunt. D is survived by son, Mike Palmer and his wife, Sue of Woodinville, WA; grandson, Andy Palmer, who lives in Seattle and attends the University of Washington; brother, Millard Palmer and wife, Opal of San Antonio, TX; and hundreds of friends he truly loved at Merrill Gardens in Kirkland, Bellevue/Seattle area, Wenatchee, WA, Idaho, Canada and places near and far.
Services will be held at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina, WA at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2010, with a Celebration of D's Life following at Saint Thomas's Great Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seattle Chapter of the MS Society or Children's Hospital.
