E. Lee Johnston passed away in Wenatchee on December 24, 2009. He was born in Danville, KS, on July 21, 1916. In 1939, he married Grace in Wichita, KS. They lived in Wichita until he joined the U.S. Army, enlisting for World War II from 1944 to 1946. He returned to Wichita and lived there until 1953. Lee worked as a cross country truck driver. In 1953, they moved to Montana and he worked in construction projects in Montana, Colorado, Oregon, California and Washington, until he retired in 1978, in Vancouver, WA. Lee and Grace moved to East Wenatchee in 1990, and spent their winters in the south. His wife, Grace, died in March of 1994.

His son, Ron Johnston, resides in Brewster, WA. Ron's son, Brent and his family, including one son, live in Seattle and daughter, Kristen and her family, including three boys, live in Ft. Wayne, IN.
