CASHMERE — A Cashmere woman who was walking to the store with her dog was accosted by two men about noon Saturday, and robbed of her wallet and pain medications.

The 50-year-old woman told sheriff’s deputies that she was walking in the 100 block of East Pleasant Avenue when two young men jumped her and took her wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash, and her prescription of Percocet, said Jerry Moore, chief of administration for the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.

He said the two men appeared to be in their early 20s, and were wearing black, hooded sweatshirts with the hoods pulled tight over most of their faces.

No weapons were used, he said. The woman was not injured, Moore said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.

Wow devildog1775 it must be great to be so perfect. When I read the article it says WALLET not a pocketbook (purse). But, then again pocketbook is from the OLDER GENERATION. You really need to lighten up a bit. Hung and Stoned in town square? They were kids, if and when they are caught the courts will decide the punishment. Her words are ok, I could read what she said.

It doesn't matter if they were kids. (I personally don't consider 20 year olds kids.) They are old enough to know right from wrong. They are the scum of the earth preying on an older lady alone. Or anyone for that matter. I'm sure it took two "real" men to take from a woman alone. Take 'em out and shoot them. Me, I shoot first and ask questions later.

This article probably could have used a better headline. I understand the limitations on space, but most people differentiate between drugs and medications when the two words are used in the news.

devildog, Marie's only misspelling was "ramdom"... I've seen worse. As for your other comments, you can take the word "pocketbook" and turn it into a purse, or a wallet - but you can't take the word wallet (as stated in the article) and turn it into a purse.

I'll refrain from making a bad joke about the "hang and stoned" comment.

lol--hang and stone someone for purse-snatching? What the heck? Yes, they should be caught, tried and punished for their crime, but I don't think it requires the death penalty. Lordy.

I'm thinking a "ramdom" must be a new style of condom on steroids.

I agree. The headline almost made it appear as if the woman was a victim of her own gang members until I noted the age difference. Never judge a book by it's title until you read "The End" without cheating.

I'm with Jethro - do you think these kids would be brave enough to commit this crime if they knew the majority of people were carrying?

I have to say, it would be convenient to claim someone (vague description) stole your prescription narcotic addictive drugs so you could get another refill after you ate the first batch too quickly.

indianbabydoll (angel hartley) says...

mavulous, 1-the robbery did not happen on E Pleasant, it happened on the road in the Riverside Park
2-the victim suffered a concution along with a BLACK EYE
3-As stated previosly she is physically disabled and suffers from PTSD. which now has intensified, she is nearly agoraphobic due to this incident!
SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE WHO SAID THE HORRIBLE THINGS THEY DID! SHE IS A GOOD CATHOLIC WOMAN WHO HAS A GOOD HEART & DID NOTHING TO DESERVE WHAT HAPPEND TO HER.

MAYBE YOU WOULD DO THAT, FOR THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I CAN EVEN IMAGINE YOU WOULD THINK OF SUCH A THING! SHAME ON YOU

I find it amusing that the Wenatchee world doesn't seem to offer corrections or updates to stories like these.

Angel, if you are indeed in the loop, can you offer any updates as to the physical description of the suspects?

lurker_berserker (Lurker Berserker) says...

Angel, I would certainly not like to live in constant pain, nor would I like it if this were someone I loved. But I would also like to live in a society where people question everything, and take very little at face value (like assuming someone is good simply because they are a catholic). You seem to imply that you know what really happened in this story, however I am not one to succumb to the foolishness of faith. And given a lack of evidence from the story, and your lack of qualifications as a reporter, some questions naturally arise for me. I'm sorry you are offended by my inquisitive nature. Or, to put it in terms you might understand, PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR MY SINS! HOW MANY HAIL MARYS UNTIL I AM CLEAN IN YOUR SANCTIFIED EYES?
