Sage James Munro

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Lifelong Ephrata, WA resident, Sage James Munro, 35, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at his home. Sage was born on November 18, 1974, in Ephrata at Columbia Basin Hospital and spent the majority of his life in the town he loved. Sage grew up a Jehovah's Witness. Sage attended Ephrata High School, where he graduated in 1993 with honors. He married his high school sweetheart, Beth Boyd in October of 1995, in Hell's Canyon, ID, with his family at his side. They had a son, Griffin Stone Munro, on October 7, 1997. He was an athlete and an outdoorsman. He worked out daily and enjoyed snowboarding, dirt biking, water sports, hunting and fishing. Sage brought his unending energy and joy spending time with Griffin and his friends. Sage worked with his brother, Wade Munro, for years as a flooring installer in their business, Munro Brothers. In recent years, Sage ventured into his own business doing stone work, tile and granite countertops. He was renowned as a craftsman with an eye for detail. His work, like his hobbies, was a source of joy for him. He was a kind and generous man, donating time to good causes, coaching his son's football team and helping his friends and neighbors whenever in need.

Sage is survived by his parents, Jim and Diane Munro; sisters and brothers, Kimberly Lindsey, Fawn Sied, Wade Munro, Stoney Munro and Harmony Smith; grandmother, Betty Munro; and nieces and nephews, Shanel Halley, Brawn Lindsey, Shane Lindsey, Kimbriel Bechdol, Jet Munro, Sayler Munro, Maile Munro and Jadence Smith.

A Memorial Service for Sage with be held at the Ephrata High School Performing Arts Center (PAC), at 333 4th Avenue NW, on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather at Ephrata Middle School, 384 A Street SE, following the memorial service.
