Glenn Weyenberg

Glenn Weyenberg, longtime Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away January 7, 2010. He was 92. Glenn was a scratch golfer. He shot a then record 65 at the Wenatchee Golf and Country Club in 1970. He putted only 22 times, single putted 12 greens, two-putted five times and chipped in once. He was a master fly fisherman, who cast his line in hundreds of lakes, rivers and lagoons in the western United States, Canada, New Zealand and Christmas Island. Over the years, he mentored many local neophytes into the sport. Glenn was the Northwest Sales Manager for Keyes Fibre Company until he retired in 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Willa; sons, Eric of Honolulu, Grant and Mark of Wenatchee and Bruce of Logan, WV; and his daughter, Lael of Santa Fe, NM. He leaves 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At Glenn's request, his family gathered in Wenatchee over the weekend for a party to celebrate a life lived full. Gone Fishing

Glenn we enjoyed so much as he had such an upswing way that made you smile. Everyone is going to miss Glenn and the opportunity for him to toss some of that happiness everywhere! Our hearts are with the family members.
