Violet Hart
Wednesday, January 13, 2010
Violet Hart, age 99, passed away Thursday morning, January 7, 2010, at Cashmere Convalescent Center. She was born February 20, 1910, in Golden, CO. She married George Hart and raised two children, George "Buzzy" and Roda, in the Missoula, MT area. She moved to Washington State with her daughter Roda's family in 1957, and began working as a technician in an optical shop, grinding lenses in Tacoma, until she retired at age 70. She then moved to Peshastin and worked as a fruit sorter at HI-UP warehouse until the age of 86, when the general consensus was she really should retire. She then lived with Roda in Cle Elum, until Roda's passing in May, 2006. Violet lived and worked for her family, and was a wonderful and generous grandmother. There was no sacrifice too big for her, when she believed it would benefit one of us. She was known as Grandma to three different churches and to all the friends of the family.
Grandma was widowed before she was 40, and was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and both of her children. She is survived by her grandchildren and their families, Diana Lamb of Mt. Home, AR, great-granddaughters, Rachel, Kristina, Tamara and Heather and eight great-great-grandchildren; Lorinda Brim of Cashmere, WA, one great-grandson, Tyrel, one great-granddaughter, Megan and one great-great-grandson; Mark Houtchens of Malaga, WA, two great-granddaughters, Kristen and Tiffany and one great-great-granddaughter; Kelly Hart of unknown; and Scott Hart of Seeley Lake, MT.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the wonderful staff of Cashmere Convalescent Center for their loving care of Violet.
There will not be a Service held for Violet, but we would very much welcome a sign in and memory left in her page of the Memory Book at the Telford's Chapel website, which is www.telfordschapel.com.
