A great star in our lives fell from view on December 30, 2009, when our beloved Kaye passed away, following a sudden illness, surrounded by her children, only two months after losing her sweetheart, Tom. Linda "Kaye" Adams was born on August 21, 1947, in Abilene, TX, to Let Elmer and Orpah Lee Adams. Kaye was raised in Abilene in a very loving and close-knit family. When Kaye was 15 years old, she attended a "sock hop," where she met her future husband and soul mate, Tom Hancock. She often told of their first meeting and remembered vividly asking herself, "I wonder if this is the man God meant to be my husband," and it was. Tom and Kaye were married August 23, 1963, while Tom was stationed in Texas in the Air Force. With their three year old son, Shane, in tow, they moved to Tom's hometown of Wenatchee, WA. Shortly after moving to Wenatchee, they had a daughter, Shannon. Kaye attended Wenatchee Valley College and graduated on the Dean's List as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Deaconess Hospital for many years, in many different aspects of nursing and moved to Central Washington Hospital as an Operating Room Nurse, where she worked until her retirement in 1999. Shortly before her retirement, she and Tom moved to Lake Chelan, living at the Yacht Club, where she served as the Commodore for a year. Together, they made many wonderful friends while living at the lake and made many lasting memories of the fun they had. Kaye was a very talented woman, who enjoyed all types of crafts, including toll painting and quilting. She gave her beautiful quilts to all of her children and grandchildren, with each one designed especially for the person who received it. Kaye was an avid golfer and it is said, she was quite good at the game. Whatever Kaye did, she did it with all of her heart, but at the heart of her heart was her family. She loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends, and made each person feel special and loved. Kaye will be greatly missed by all who knew her; she was always a tremendous source of strength and light.

Kaye is survived by her children, Shane (Sharon) Hancock of Bellevue and Shannon (Rob) Schauberger of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Betty Gannaway; brothers, Ray Adams, Richard Adams and Douglas Adams; her grandchildren, Sean, Tela, Blake, Chelsea, Tanner and Parker; and her great-grandson, Teagan. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Jim (Marian) Hancock; sisters-in-Iaw, Paula (Mike) Arakelian and Denise (Dave) Mays; as well as her best friends, George and Charlene Pratt. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Tom; her parents; and one brother.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley. Arrangements assisted by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.

The best person I ever spent any of my life with was you Grandma. Wish you would have stayed. Grandma Kaye cared for her family like no other. She always made it a point to stay involved in everyones life which is something I truley admired about her. Especially thru the hard times in my life. Will be lost with out her. She made the holidays warm and Birthdays special. She was the strength of our family. We all have certain traits of her in us which is why we will all need to stick together and be around one another. It is what she wants. It is who she was. I love you Grandma, I miss you so much and hope you and Grandpa are together and happy now. I wish I could hear you both laugh just once more and hug and tell you I love you once more cause the last time just wasn't enough. Rest in peace. Your grandson
