Stephen Raymond Smith, 60, of East Wenatchee, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle.

He was born and grew up in Wenatchee. He was a teacher and librarian/media specialist for the Warden School District in Grant County. He retired in 2005 and returned to the Wenatchee area.

Survivors include his brother, Bruce Smith of Woodinville.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Wenatchee First United Methodist Church, 941 Washington St.
