Marilyn L. Cotter Thompson

Marilyn L. Cotter Thompson, 76, an eight year resident of East Wenatchee and formerly of Chelan, died Sunday, January 17, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 15, 1933, at Chelan, the daughter of Milton and Olive (Watson) Brownfield. She graduated from Chelan High School in 1952. She attended the University of Washington for one year. On February 24, 1956, she was married to Leo Cotter in Chelan. They resided in Chelan, where she and her husband raised apples. Leo preceded her in death on December 23, 1993. On February 4, 1995, she married Gerald Thompson of Oroville. She enjoyed fellowship with a worldwide body of Christians.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald of East Wenatchee; sons, Dale Cotter of East Wenatchee and Kyle Cotter and his wife, Lynda of Manson; step-children, Linda K. Butler and husband, Larry of East Wenatchee, Patty L. Kamrau of Gresham, OR and Bob Thompson and wife, Terri of East Wenatchee; cousins, Sarah Wisdom of Spokane, Doris Craig of Oak Harbor and Ruth Lindert of Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo P. Cotter; and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the Chelan High School Performing Arts Center. Viewing will be Wednesday, January 20 and Thursday, January 21 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. both days at Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan. Donations may be made in Marilyn's memory to the Susan B. Koman Foundation. Services have been entrusted to Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home and Precht Rose Chapel. I remember Marilyn when Dennis & I came to visit them when Leo & her had their apple Orchard. She was always a happy person. She was a kind person. She isn't suffering any more & that is a blessing. My sympathy to her family.
