Darryl Jane “Dee” VanVelkinburgh, 71, of Ephrata, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010. She was born in Leavenworth and was a longtime resident of Central Washington. She had worked for Lamb-Weston in Quincy, House Laundry in Ephrata and owned and operated Grandma Dee’s Day Care.
Survivors include her husband, George VanVelkinburgh of Ephrata; her children, Richard House of Ephrata and Valinda Knighten of Grand Coulee; her sisters, Dixie Wallace, Doris Hutson and Linda Tomlinson, all of Wenatchee, and Sylvia Weiss of Arlington; and her brothers, Charles Avey of Wenatchee, Phillip Avey of Marysville and Marvin Avey of Everett.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Chapel Assembly of God Church, 612 3rd Ave. S.E. in Ephrata. Arrangements are by Nicoles Funeral Home of Ephrata.
