Marge passed away December 21, 2009, at Harborview Medical Center, with her family by her bedside. Though she had recently experienced health issues, her passing was sudden. Marge was born in Wenatchee to Ethyl (McDonough) and Charles Morse. After graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1940, she worked for the Wenatchee Chiefs Baseball Club, owned by her uncle, Chuck Garland. During this time, she met her husband, Mike Budnick, a pitcher for the Spokane Indians. They were married in 1942, making their first home in Wenatchee. Their son, Michael Jr., was born in 1943. Their adventures in baseball took them to Seattle, New York, San Francisco, San Diego and back to Seattle, finally making their home on Queen Anne Hill, where they lived for 50 years. Marge worked as a civilian data processor for the Army for almost 30 years, where she made many lifelong friends. She had many hobbies including: traveling and performing in a hula dance troupe in her earlier years; cheering on her Mariners; and, especially, watching her grandsons' and great-grandsons' athletic events in her later years, where she was fondly known by all as Gram. She lived in Edmonds for the last decade, to be near family, which was a blessing for all. Marge will be greatly missed, as she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie and friend.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Budnick Sr.; and brother, Jerry Morse. She is survived by her brother, Chuck Morse (Charlotte) of Northfield, MN; son, Michael Jr. (Yvonne) of Manson; grandsons, Will (Jennifer) of Edmonds and Scott (Lisa) of Bothell; and many special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the joys of her life, four wonderful great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tate, Kelsey and Cameron.
To honor Marge and her devotion to family, please have a special Sunday family dinner or support a child, by cheering at his or her games. A Service celebrating Marge's amazing Life will be held at a later date. Please check www.mem.com for more information.
