Gary Norman Sullivan
Sunday, January 24, 2010
Gary was born and grew up in Toledo, OH. He graduated from Macomber Vocational High School in 1957, with a degree in Aeronautics. After serving in the United States Air Force, Gary gained employment with Boeing in the Seattle, WA area, where, with a few exceptions, he would spend his career as a tooling engineer. He met and, in 1967, married Shirley Fritz of Leavenworth, WA. They had two children. The couple moved to Leavenworth, where Gary was a Teacher's Aide and a Carpenter. After divorce, Gary met and married Cindy Robertson of the Seattle area and returned to Boeing. Gary was able to take an early retirement. He lived in Kingston, WA, where he enjoyed volunteering as light man for the local theater and spending time on the water in his cabin cruiser. Seeking a sunnier existence, Gary moved to California, where he lived until he passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a short battle with cancer. Gary had a life long passion for building flying airplanes. From self made remote controlled, to small props, gliders and ultra lights. He enjoyed photography, especially black and white, which he developed himself. He built two of his own homes. He was a devoted father, had a fun sense of humor, quick mind and a very soft spot in his heart for animals. His family and friends will miss him.
Gary is survived by sisters, Mary and Johnie Jill; daughter, Suzan; son, Christopher; and seven grandchildren.
Gary requested that No Services be held. His ashes will be scattered at a private family gathering.
