Lois Jeanette Russell

Lois J. Russell, 93, entered her heavenly home July 1, 2010, from East Wenatchee, WA. She was born October 24, 1916, to Clinton and Lena Tart in Spokane, WA. Lois married D. Vernon Russell in April, 1942. They lived most of their married lives in Bremerton, where she and Vern raised their three children. They were longtime members of the First Baptist Church. While in Wenatchee, Lois attended the Brethren Baptist Church. She and Vern enjoyed a lifetime of traveling, including trips to the Holy Lands, China, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, Europe and many places in the U.S. They also enjoyed a number of winters in Mesa, AZ. Lois was a gifted china painter and enjoyed painting beautiful ceramic pieces. She had lived in Wenatchee since 1995, to be near her daughter. Her last home was Green Gables Adult Family Home.
Lois was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed their company. Lois is survived by her children, David Russell of Olympia, Douglas Russell of Allyn, WA and Janet (Russell) Lillybridge of Wenatchee. Grandchildren include Chris Russell, Kevin Russell and Janelle (Russell) Frey, Felix Russell, Brett Russell, Kim (Russell) Haley, Aaron Lillybridge, Jack Lillybridge and Daniel Lillybridge; and seven great-grandchildren. Her sister, Allie Burchell, lives in Spokane. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband of over 50 years, Vern, in 1995; and by her sister, Francis; and brother, Norman.
Services will be held in Bremerton, WA at Miller-Woodlawn Chapel on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 1:00 p.m.
