Delmar Ray "Bud" Blake

Delmar Ray "Bud" Blake, 81, of Quincy, WA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 16, 2010. He was born on September 13, 1928, to Walter and Bernice (Diener) Blake at Spokane. Bud attended school in the Spokane area; he entered the United States Army in 1948, serving until his honorable discharge in 1952. He moved to Quincy in 1957, and was employed as a Mechanic for Quincy Truck & Implement for 21 years. Bud enjoyed hunting and flying and was very proud of the achievement he was able to obtain, his pilot's license as a paraplegic on June 24, 1982.
Bud is survived by his children, Kenny Blake of East Wenatchee and Cheryl Worley and Chris Martin, both of Quincy; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil; and sister, Eloise.
The family would like to say a special thank you for the wonderful care received from Columbia Basin Hospice, Rhonda Ramm ARNP and Sageview Clinic.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010, at the Quincy Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until Noon on Monday, June 21, at Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy is in charge of funeral arrangements.
