Jack Harrington

Jack Harrington, 95, of Moses Lake, WA, formerly of Wenatchee (1935 to 1980), died quietly in his sleep at Summer Wood Alzheimer's Special Care Center on June 22, 2010. Jack, the eldest son of five, was born in Prosser, WA to Frank and Amy Harrington. He was raised, schooled and married to Ann Irene Snow in Bellingham, WA. He and Ann, with their daughter, moved to Wenatchee, where they became regional Distributors for the P.I. newspaper for several years, before owning the Wenatchee News Agency. He also spent three years in the U.S. Army during World War II. Jack and Ann sold the business and spent a year building their cabin on Lake Chelan. He became Civil Defence Director for Chelan and Douglas Counties and all those cities until his retirement in 1977. The next few years, the Harrington's spent their time between Lake Chelan and their winter home in Yuma, AZ, finally moving to Moses Lake to be closer to family. Jack loved to fish and hunt, had a horse and he was active with Appleatchee Horse Club and a member of the Chelan County Sheriff's Posse. Jack was also an active member of Wenatchee's Lions Club, Elks and the American Legion.
Survivors include his daughter, Nelda Stierlen and her husband, Marvin; his two granddaughters, Phyllis PuFahl and her husband, Ron of Moses Lake and Patrice Elston of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; his great-grandson, Jason Archer and wife, Dani; and great-great-grandsons, Brodee and Ledger Archer, also of Moses Lake, WA; two brothers, Paul and wife, CC of Seatac, WA and Jim and his wife, Jen of Moses Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann; and two brothers, Robert and Richard.
He requested there be No Service and for all family and friends to "tip one" and think of him.
