Rosetta Dunn, 93, a resident of Leavenworth for the past 61 years, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Cashmere Convalescent Center in Cashmere. She was born Rosetta Rayfield to George Newton and Martha Ellen (Barnes) Rayfield on August 12, 1916, at Greenbrier, Sevier County, TN. The family moved to the Bird's Creek area near Sevierville, where Rosetta helped out with taking care of her younger brother and sister. On September 11, 1934, she married our Dad, Arthur B. Dunn at Cocke County, TN. They made their first home in Sevier County, TN. In 1949, they moved to Leavenworth, WA to make their home. Rosetta was a homemaker. She took pride in raising a beautiful garden, which they shared with family and friends. She also kept very busy raising us four children. She did lots of quilting, writing short poems and reading the Bible, her favorite book. She loved her family very much. Rosetta was a longtime member of Mount Calvary Primitive Baptist Church in Dryden.

She is survived by her children, Wilford (Norma) Dunn of Colville, WA, Glenn (Cathy) Dunn of Colville, WA, Ellen "Tootie" (Walter) Hale of Peshastin and Winogene Stubbs of Wenatchee; one brother, Floyd Rayfield of Peshastin; eight grandchildren, Kenny (Susan) Stubbs, Theresa (Jeff) Jones, Sonia (Mike) Davenport, Joe (Theresa) Dunn, Becky Siegerst, Bill (Becky) Dunn, Todd (Belinda) Dunn and Casandra (Scott) Schauls; six great-grandsons, Colten Davenport, Brady Dunn, Casey Dunn, Dustin Snyder, James Dunn and Jacoby Dunn; nine great-granddaughters, Sheena (Ejay) Davis, Stephanie Nauertz, Amanda Dunn, Katie Dunn, Melinda (Phil) Arnold, Tracie Stubbs, Natasha Siegrist, Gracie Schauls and Molly Schauls; two great-great-granddaughters, Syndee Arnold and Paisley Arnold; and one great-great-grandson, Brenden Nauertz. Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur in 1998; four brothers, Walter, Roosevelt, Amos and Oliver "Buck" Rayfield; five sisters, Lora Ogle, Laurinda Ogle, Alice Watson, Margie Whaley and Lillard Noland; and three grandsons.

A Funeral Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Rosetta "Rayfield" Dunn will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Ward's Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth. The casket will remain closed. Private Family Interment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery.

Her passing will leave a huge void in her family and the people who were fortunate enough to know her. We will remember her by living up to the values that she taught us. She taught us there is a God in Heaven; always put God first; and have respect for others. She taught us right from wrong and she taught us to laugh some. In our hearts she was the greatest.

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels, where she walks with Jesus and the loved ones waiting. We know she's smiling, saying, "Don't worry about me."
