Freda Iris Snider

Freda Iris Snider, 82, of Brewster, passed away in her home on Friday, March 5, 2010. She succumbed to a bravely fought, long-term illness. She was born to Loren and Ruth White on February 29, 1928, in Okanogan, WA. Freda married her soul mate, George P. Snider, in 1945. The couple made their home in Brewster. George passed away in 1979. Freda graduated from Beauty School in Spokane shortly after marriage and completed an Associate's Degree from Wenatchee Valley College later in life. Throughout her life, she worked various jobs, including beautician, apple packer, fish counter, maintenance person, housewife and loving mother. She worked at Wells Dam for 26-1/2 years, until she retired in 1998.
Freda is survived by two cats, Tripod and Momma Kitty; and seven children, Darcy Snider of Seattle, Marilynn Snider of Spokane, Connie (Dewayne) Robins of Rock Island, Joe Snider of Seattle, Pam (Jeff Kelsey) Snider of Seattle, Janet Snider of Elko, NV and George (Laura) Snider of Medical Lake, WA. She also is survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and by her dear friend and sister-in-law, Ruby Babcock of Spokane, WA.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Brewster Cemetery, followed by a reception at her home.
