John Marion "Jack" Tustin

Sunday, March 14, 2010

John Marion Tustin was always 'Jack' to everyone that he knew, from his time as a boy, until his passing on February 9, 2010. He was born June 17, 1919, as one of five children in Pasco, WA. From that time on, he was lucky enough to live the American Dream and worked hard for it, except you would have never heard it from him. Serving as Staff Sergeant during World War II, he met Jene E. Tustin and they married six months later, in Portland, OR; a union that lasted until her death, 62 years later. In those years, the Tustins had two children, worked hard in their communities, and built a life together that many would have been envious of. When many would have thrown in the towel to retirement, Jack continued to work hard at his seven acre farm, with the riders at Appleatchee, with Wenatchee's food bank, and riding his beloved horses up, around and beyond Rooster Rock, up into his late 80's. A tough cowboy until the end, his strength and pride will be missed by the family and community that he leaves behind.

He is survived by his two children; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and siblings.

At his request, No Services will be held.
