SEATTLE — Jim Mora plans to return to the sidelines as a football coach in the future. That return just won’t come this fall at Bellevue High School.

Mora clarified that Tuesday, saying he doesn’t plan on being part of the Wolverines coaching staff.

Butch Goncharoff, Bellevue’s coach, had indicated last week that Mora would have a role with the team, though his exact involvement remained uncertain. Goncharoff reiterated Tuesday that the team would welcome input or involvement from Mora, but that nothing concrete had been determined.

But Mora said Tuesday he doesn’t intend to be part of the coaching staff or in charge of a specific group of players. Any involvement he might have would be minimal and informal, perhaps providing input on the playbook during Bellevue’s spring-football practices. Mora said he would not be on the coaching staff.

Mora coached for the NFL’s Seahawks the previous three seasons, serving as head coach in 2009. He was fired in January after one season.

With four children, Mora has had a busy schedule attending all of their events and has volunteered working with lacrosse, baseball and basketball. He also may help with his 11-year-old son’s youth football team, but that’s more a matter of offering encouragement and equipment assistance.
