The Seattle group Gamelan Pacifica specializes in music for the Indonesian gamelan ensemble, which features metallophones, xylophones, drums, bamboo flutes and strings. The group, directed by Jarrad Powell, pairs up with the local Icicle Creek Piano Trio for pieces by Lou Harrison, John Cage and Maurice Ravel. Powell gives a pre-concert talk and gamelan demonstration at 2:30 p.m.

Tap your two-tones to the Okanogan Valley Orchestra and Chorus’ big band bash. The annual event features a silent auction, live dessert auction and tasty bites to eat. Tim Zanol directs the ensemble, which is joined by the Omak High School Jazz Band. Buy tickets in advance from any OVOC board member or at the door. Free dance lessons precede the event from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
