Marjorie Loreen (Schroeder) Beall

Marjorie Loreen (Schroeder) Beall was born to Nellie L. (Scott) and Albert W. Schroeder on July 21, 1921, in Ellensburg, WA. She attended schools in Ellensburg, graduating from Ellensburg Senior High School. Marjorie then attended Central Washington College of Education, where she earned her Teaching Degree. Following graduation, she taught school in Seattle, Ellensburg and Wenatchee, finishing her career in the Eastmont School District. On December 18, 1953, she married Rufus G. Beall and they made their home together in Wenatchee, until his passing in December 1988. She was actively involved in the First United Methodist Church. Marjorie also was a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and was currently Royal Matron of Wenatchee Court, Order of the Amaranth. She belonged to the National Education Association, Washington State Retired Teacher's Association and the Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Her loss will be felt deeply by these groups.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Lois N. Willis. She is survived by her daughter, Margell Umberger and granddaughter, Katlynn, both of Winthrop; and her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Rod Ames and grandchildren, Gavin and Hannah, all of Wenatchee.

Services will be held Sunday, March 21, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, on the corner of Washington and Miller Streets in Wenatchee. Reverend Kel Groseclose will be officiating with the help of Wenatchee Court, Order of the Amaranth. Memorials may be made to the Amaranth Youth Scholarship Fund or The First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund. Mrs Beall was my 6th grade teacher at Lincoln Grade School and a very fine lady. A good teacher with a nice outgoing personality. Wenatchee was lucky to have her talents. I remember her as being very tall with very curly hair. I consider myself fortunate to have been her student.
