Delores (Waters) Smith passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 4, 2010. Delores was born on April 5, 1935, to parents, Cleo "Whitey" and Margaret Waters of Leavenworth. After graduating from Leavenworth High School in 1953, she went on to Nursing School and graduated from Providence School of Nursing in Everett, WA in 1956. Delores married Robert "Sonny" Smith on November 4, 1961, in Wenatchee and then settled in Leavenworth. She pursued excellence in her roles as wife and mother, as she did with everything else she tackled in life. She eventually retired from Cascade General Hospital, after many years of service to both the hospital and the community.

Delores is survived by her beloved husband, Bob of the family home in Ephrata; her loving children: son, Bill Smith of Connell, WA; daughter, Donna Perkins of Ephrata; son, Milo Smith and wife, April of Wenatchee; and son, Troy Smith of East Wenatchee. She is also survived by her grandsons, Keith, Cory, Nolan, Christian, Spencer, Tony and Conner; brother, Walter "Butch" Waters and his wife, Sharon of Leavenworth, WA.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mandy Robertson, as well as all of the dedicated Oncology nurses and staff at Central Washington Hospital, for their loving and kind care that they gave to our Mother. Another heartfelt thank you to the Central Basin Home Health and Hospice, for their uncompromising care during her last days.

Delores was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who made a difference in people's lives every day of her life. Her guidance, wisdom, and love, will be missed by us all. We love you, Mom.

At her request, there are to be No Services or flowers. Instead, she requests that donations be made in her name and sent to Children's Orthopedic Hospital for Cancer Research or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth is handling the arrangements.
