Peggy Burnett, faithful wife, loving mother and precious friend to many, passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2010. She was born at Chelan, WA on August 23, 1925, to Charles and Evelena (Myatt) Ingalls. She attended school in Chelan and graduated from Chelan High School in 1943. She then attended Eastern Washington University for two years. She married Morris Burnett on October 23, 1946, in Colville, WA. They made their first home in Douglas, WA. She loved people, so she made many friends, wherever they lived. She disliked dissension. Her main hobbies were genealogy and stamp collecting. She worked at these until just days before she died. She was a member of the Catholic Church. During her nine years in Waterville, she was very active in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She served as the Treasurer until a couple of months ago.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Morris; daughters, Louana (Mike) Green of East Wenatchee, Colleen Friend of Post Falls, ID, Virginia (Scott) Dickinson of Prineville, OR and Diane (Rick) McUne of Cashmere; one brother, Wayne (Ardis) Ingalls of Maple Valley, WA; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Evalena Ingalls; and her sister, Nancy Jones.
A Vigil Service and Rosary will be held on Monday evening, November 15, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waterville, with a Memorial Mass Service on Tuesday morning, November 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Gary Norman officiating. Arrangements are assisted by Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
