In conjunction with the museum’s current exhibit, “Picture the Musician,” a variety of instruments are on display Saturday. For “Sound Sampler,” patrons may get hands-on with guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, bass, autoharp, accordion, drums and other percussion instruments, while musicians stand by to give demonstrations. Anyone who visits every station gets a special prize. During the event, an open mic session takes place in the Performance Center of the museum; anyone is welcome to participate.

The watercolors and drawings of Stehekin School students are on display this winter at the Stehekin gallery, which is a cooperative venture of local artists and the North Cascades National Park. Students focused their artistry on the Buckner Orchard, in celebration of the Buckner Homestead’s 100-year anniversary. The gallery is open 12:30 to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with Sunday hours ending in January.
