WENATCHEE — Cashmere artist Dan McConnell paints schools of fish on utility boxes at the entrance to Town Toyota Center on Thursday. The artwork is part of the “Out of the Box” utility box art project, a nationwide effort to spruce up the urban landscape. McConnell hopes to have the painting done by early next week. Then he’ll move on to paint an Abraham Lincoln scene on a box at Lincoln Park. “I like this public art,” McConnell said. “It seems like a good thing to get art out of the galleries and into the public eye.
