Betty Jean Kelly
Wednesday, September 8, 2010
Our beloved mother, Betty Jean Kelly, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010, after a long battle with Wegener's Disease. She was born in West Union, IA on February 1, 1950, to George Elmer Kelly and Wilhemenia "Minnie" Ella Ohmann. She was a devoted housewife for many years, and helped take care of family and friend's children as well. She eventually decided to go back to college to get her AA degree and graduated in June of 2003, from Wenatchee Valley College. She then worked as a legal secretary for many years and devoted her life to family, friends and her animals. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by four children and one daughter-in-law, Virginia Johnson of East Wenatchee, Jerry Scott Jr., David Scott and Alan and Michelle Scott, all of Wenatchee. She is also survived by three sisters, one brother-in-law, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Bartlett of Freemont, NE, Karen Homewood of Sumner, IA, Larry and Linda Sigbornson of Omaha, NE, Robert and Vicky Kelly of Decorah, IA and Donald and Becky Kelly and George Kelly Jr., all of Hawkeye, IA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Ashlee Johnson, Keanu Johnson, Taran Johnson, Dokken Johnson, Shania Scott, Jackson Scott, Christian Scott, Dulton Scott, Serenity Scott, Carter Scott and Rilya Scott; and great-grandson, Brayden Scott. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Louise Kelly; and a niece, Tjsha Ann Hall Amoroso.
A heartfelt thank you to Shauna and her family and all the staff at Senior's Delight Adult Family Home for your compassion and wonderful care of our mother. She was very happy living there and you made the end of her life wonderful. Thank you again!!!
A Graveside Service to Celebrate Betty's Life will be held Friday, September 10, 2010, at the Wenatchee City Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations made toward funeral expenses, which is much appreciated. Please express your thoughts and memories on the online guest book at jonesjonesbetts.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home, Wenatchee.
