Charles R. "Chuck" Davis

Charles R. "Chuck" Davis, 75, a longtime resident of East Wenatchee, WA, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at his home, with his family near his side. Chuck was born February 5, 1935, in Wenatchee, to LeRoy and Louise (Gullett) Davis. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1954, and attended Wenatchee Valley College for two years, earning his AA degree. During that time, he served in the Army Reserve and later, joined the U.S. Army, getting his training at Ft. Lewis in Tacoma and the Yakima Firing Center, until being stationed in Iceland. Mr. Davis was honorably discharged on January 2, 1959, and he returned to Wenatchee. Chuck married Caroline Holdt in June of 1959, and they had two children. She passed away in 1975. Chuck worked for Wenoka for a while, until getting a job at the Chelan County PUD, where he worked for 35 years, and retired as a Chief Hydro Electric Operator. In 1976, he married Sheryl Crawford in Wenatchee and they made their home in East Wenatchee, where Chuck had bought a home some years before. Chuck loved spending time with and supporting his grandchildren in their sports activities and taking them fishing. He was a very loving and kind man, who touched many lives and was deeply loved by his children and grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Columbia River Ward of East Wenatchee.
Survivors include his wife, Sheryl, of the home; his children, Randy (Helen) Davis of Sylacauga, AL, Cindy (Frank) Potera of Yakima, Dean (Cyndie) Crawford of Wenatchee, Gary (Robin) Crawford and Nikki Williams, all of East Wenatchee and Cherie Rhoades of Denver, CO; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, East Wenatchee, 667 10th Street N.E., with Bishop Jon Cook presiding. The Dedication of the Grave and Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. Memorial contributions may be made to the General Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Chuck. He was a wonderful man with a quiet strength about him. God bless his family & friends.
