People calling 911 will have to provide addresses during upgrade

WENATCHEE — Officials with the RiverCom dispatch center say they expect no problems when they upgrade the 911 phone system early Tuesday morning. Millie Tirapelle, RiverCom director, said the upgrade will happen between midnight Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday. The public still will be able to call 911 but the dispatcher will not be able to map where the caller is calling from, and the caller’s address will not be displayed. At all other times, an address is displayed with the call.
