CASHMERE — The Cashmere Bulldogs’ dominance over the rest of Caribou Trail League took on a new level Saturday afternoon.
Nick Tarver and Trenton Johnson threw back-to-back no-hitters as the Bulldogs (9-0 Caribou Trail League) rolled to wins of 27-0 and 26-0 over the Tonasket Tigers.
It was Tarver’s second no-no in as many starts, and he was perfect until an error and a hit batsmen occurred with two outs in the top of the fifth inning. He finished with 10 strikeouts.
“You can see he’s adding some velocity and really being dominant on the mound for us,” Cashmere coach Jeff Carlson said.
Johnson, who also went 7-for-7 at the plate on the day, struck out seven and walked just one.
“He was able to get ahead of hitters and was pounding the strike zone,” Carlson said.
