EAST WENATCHEE — Mike Sims’ name was all over the place at the Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval on Saturday night.
Racing in two classes, Sims won the qualifying and picked up a third place in the Thunder Cars main, and later added a win in the second trophy dash in Street Stocks.
In the Thunder Cars points standings, Sims (1,022 points) inched ever closer to leader Russell Kain (1,226 points), who was seventh in Saturday’s main.
Bob Grenier won the Thunder Cars main.
Andy Stibal took home the checkered flag in the Street Stocks main, while Sims didn’t fare as well as he had earlier in the night — he placed last out of 10 drivers.
In the Vintage Modifieds touring series, Jeff Peterson took the main victory.
The Bump 2 Pass class opened the night, with Chris Swafford earning the main checkered flag.
Swafford sits in second place in the Bump 2 Pass standings with 860 points, just barely ahead of Casey Cook (850 points) and Brad Reyna (849 points). Randy Adams is the series leader with 932 points.
