Sharon Jeannette "Rose" Parker
Omak, WA
Sharon Jeannette "Rose" Parker, 73, of Omak, WA passed away at Mid Valley Hospital on August 2, 2011. She was born March 4, 1938, to Randall E. Smith and Berniece G. Berry at Chilequin, OR. At a young age, Sharon moved with her family to Poulsbo, WA., where she attended first and second grade. In 1945, the family moved to Everett, WA., where Sharon graduated from Everett High School in 1956. Sharon was an honored member of the National Rifle Association Junior Division, and received many awards for long range sharp shooting. Sharon attended Everett Community College for pattern design and detailed tailoring. She was an excellent seamstress. On August 23, 1958, Sharon married George D. Parker of Stanwood, WA. Together they had two sons; Mitch, born in 1959, and Todd, born in 1963. The family moved to Omak, WA in 1967, and purchased a home on Epley Rd. Sharon worked at Omak Wood Products from 1970 to 1992, as a patch line operator. She also did bookkeeping for eight years at the family propane business in Okanogan. Sharon attended Wenatchee Valley College, graduating in 1995, with an Associate Degree in applied science for office technology and clerical. Sharon was involved in her church and several ministries, including Aglow Lighthouse, and Manfishers. She was a world traveler with her family, and also with 4 Square Missionaries. She attended Life Bible College for one year, and YWAM in Hawaii for 6 months. She designed and made banners for parades and worship. She had many gifts including, administration, hospitality, cooking, home and garden decor, and a deep love for God and his people. She was a prayer warrior! Sharon is a true inspiration to her many friends and family as she kept faith through a long and difficult battle with cancer, and we rejoice with her as she is finally and completely healed.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Mitch (Sondra) Parker of Startup, WA; Todd (Megan) Parker of Renton WA; and her grandchildren, Nathanial Parker, Chris Parker, Kaleb Parker, Brandt Andrist, Phillip Andrist, Stephan DeSuler, and Thomas DeSuler. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Mike Smith.
Services will be held at Cornerstone Fellowship in Omak, WA., on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to YWAM (Youth With A Mission) 75-5851 Kuakini Hwy. #170, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740-2199 USA
