Wanda Reeves

East Wenatchee, WA

Wanda Reeves, 57, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, at her home in East Wenatchee. Her loving children, Lindsey and John, were by her side. Wanda was born on November 16, 1954, in Wenatchee, WA to John and Marjorie Troxler. She was raised and schooled in Wenatchee, WA and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1973. In 1985, Wanda married Danny Reeves and raised two sons and a daughter. She worked for the Wenatchee Valley Medical center for 14 years, and was employed as an Optical Assistant at the time of her death. Wanda fought a courageous four-year battle with liver cancer and made the most out of every moment of life that was given to her. Wanda faced each day with a smile. She always had a loving hug and kind words to share with her friends and family. She was a remarkable woman and she was a mother her children could depend upon. Wanda always said, "A mother can hold her children's tiny hands for only a while, but her love will be with them forever." Wanda found her greatest strength in the word of God and enjoyed sharing His word with her church, her family and her friends.

Wanda is survived by two sons, Jody Reeves and John Reeves of East Wenatchee; one daughter, Lindsey Reeves Haney of East Wenatchee; sisters, Debbie Ackland and Leigh Troxler, and her parents, John and Marjorie Troxler, all of Wenatchee. Wanda was preceded in death by her best friend and the father of her children, Danny Reeves; her grandparents, Opal and Clarence James; and her sister, Kathleen Troxler.

A very special thank you to Dr. Garrison and the medical staff of Wenatchee Valley Medical Center and the Hospice Care Center. Also, a very special thank you to Brenda Reeves, Braden Reeves, and Kim Linderman for the love, care and support they have given throughout Wanda's illness.

A Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011, at the Wenatchee First Assembly of God Church, 1520 McKittrick Street in Wenatchee. Contributions may be made in Wanda's name to: Central Washington Hospital Hospice Services, P.O. Box 1887, Wenatchee, WA 98807-1887. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
