Tim D. Forhan, age 80, of East Wenatchee, WA, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2011, surrounded by his family. Tim was born August 13, 1931, in Wenatchee, the son of William and Olive (Rutherford) Forhan. He was raised in East Wenatchee and south Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1950. After graduation, he worked at the Holden Mine for two years, until being hired on at the Alcoa plant when it opened in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic from 1954 to 1958. While stationed in Louisiana, he met Wanda Lea of Alexandria, LA and married her on August 24, 1958. They made their home in Wenatchee and Tim returned to his job at Alcoa, where he retired in 1992. He and Wanda were married for 52 years, before she passed away in August of 2010. Tim enjoyed camping and hiking, and spent many vacations hiking sections of the Pacific Crest Trail. Through his adult life, he completely hiked the Washington, Oregon and Northern California sections of the trail. While in the Air Force, he obtained his private pilot's license. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his sons and granddaughters. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee.
Tim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Diane Forhan of East Wenatchee; his son, Dar Forhan of East Wenatchee; his granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Elizabeth and Jason Williams of East Wenatchee; his granddaughter, Paige Forhan of Olympia; his brother, William "Laddie" Forhan of Everett; his brother, Fred Fowler of Chelan; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton "Bummy" and John; and his sisters, Margaret and Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee. Graveside Services will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in East Wenatchee. Viewing will be Thursday, December 22, 2011, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee. Memorial donations in Tim's name may be made to Central Washington Home Care & Hospice or the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
