MANSON — By virtue of its 77-41 victory at Manson on Thursday, the Brewster boys basketball team secured the No. 2 seed from the Central Washington League’s North Division, finally breaking a three-team logjam.
The Bears, who had four double-digit scorers in its win over the Trojans, will play Kittitas, the CWL South’s No. 3 seed, at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Eastmont High School to begin the postseason.
Brewster’s victory handed Pateros, idle on Thursday, the No. 3 seed from the CWL North. And Oroville, which throttled Liberty Bell 91-36, will be the North’s No. 4 seed and face the South’s No. 1 seed White Swan on Monday.
Preston Iverson had 25 points and Michael Garrett tacked on 23 for the Hornets, who cruised after taking a 23-6 first-quarter lead.
In other regular season action Thursday, Lake Roosevelt put a damper on Bridgeport’s senior night, as the Raiders finished an undefeated league season with a 64-13 victory over the Mustangs.
Oroville finished its regular season with a 46-28 victory over Liberty Bell behind 10 points from Catie Arrigoni, but will settle for the No. 4 seed from the CWL North Division.
The Hornets will play White Swan, the CWL South’s No. 1 seed, at 7 p.m. Monday at Eastmont.
Oroville finished the regular season tied with Pateros in the league, but a preseason number draw gave the tiebreaker to the Nannies.
Pateros plays Entiat, the CWL South’s No. 2 seed, at 4 p.m. Monday at Wenatchee High.
In other regular season action Thursday, Lake Roosevelt erased a first-quarter deficit to beat a pesky Bridgeport team 52-32.
It was the final game in the careers of eight Bridgeport seniors.
Brewster, the top seed from the North, beat Manson 62-14, and will play Kittitas on Monday.
