MANSON — Manson boys basketball coach Jeremy Crollard constantly reminds his team of his three keys to winning games: not turning the ball over, making free throws, and rebounding.
The Trojans didn’t fare well in any of those categories during their 62-57 loss to Oroville on Tuesday in CWL North action.
“It was a pretty close game the whole way,” Crollard said. “They shot the ball well from the 3-point line, and we had too many turnovers, didn’t rebound well and shot horribly from the free-throw line.”
Oroville led 47-42 after three quarters, but Manson cut the lead to two with one minute, 30 seconds remaining. The Hornets’ Michael Garrett hit a 3-pointer to push the lead to five with 45 seconds left, and the Trojans couldn’t muster any further offense.
Garrett led Oroville with 16 points, while Colton Hodges had 22 for Manson.
