Bonnie V. Andruss, 82, of East Wenatchee, WA, a 67 year Wenatchee area resident, passed away at her home on Thursday afternoon, July 14, 2011, following a brief illness. She was born on April 13, 1929, at Melbourne, AR to the late John Henry and Mary Adella (Walker) Troxler. She was raised and schooled in the Melbourne area, prior to moving with her family to Wenatchee. She went to work in the area orchards, before becoming a waitress at the Coney Island Café; in Wenatchee. She met and was married to Justin Homer "Jack" Andruss on November 16, 1944, in Wenatchee, where they made their first home together. Bonnie continued to work at the Café, prior to going to work for Cedergreen's. She became a Supervisor and remained at Cedergreen's, through owner changes, to retire in the early 1990's from Simplot. Bonnie and Jack moved to make their home in East Wenatchee in 1976, where they remained. On September 9, 1996, she was preceded in death by her husband, Justin H. "Jack" Andruss. She had since continued to make her home in East Wenatchee. She especially enjoyed gardening and her yard, quilting and western movies.
She is survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Sue May and Karen Gimlin, both of Wenatchee, Donna and Norman Terry of Tuscon, AZ, Jacklyn "Jackie" Andruss of Wenatchee and Bobbie Jo and Robert Thomas of Malaga; one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Margie Troxler of Wenatchee; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Damian Storm; and three sisters, Leota Anderson, Glenna Fox and Monnie Brown.
Commemoration Services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Chapel, 19 Rock Island Road, East Wenatchee, with Chaplain Scott Langager officiating. Concluding Services and Interment will follow in Wenatchee Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011, from Noon to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
