Anna Mae McClun
Wenatchee, WA
Anna Mae McClun, 85, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011. Anna Mae was born in Taft, CA, where she grew up and attended school. From age 12 to 14, she traveled the world with her parents and brother, living in Arabia and Bahrain while her father drilled wells for Standard Oil. With her husband, Rick McClun, she raised five children while working as a medical secretary.
Anna Mae had myriad interests; she was always working on a project. Her creative and curious nature was reflected in activities such as reading, writing, photography, and fabric arts. She will be remembered for her love of nature, her love of laughter, and her love of stories. Her devotion to her family manifested in many ways, including a lengthy autobiography, a photographic history, a body of writing, and a family cookbook.
At her last writing class, just days before her passing, Anna Mae wrote a remembrance of her father's hands, in whose embrace she now resides.
Our gratitude goes out to the caring and loving staff and friends at Columbia Heights Assisted Living. Thank you also to the entire Hospice team for their compassionate care and guidance.
Memorial services will be at a later date in Camp Nelson, California. You may see photos and leave a memory at www.HeritageMemorialChapel.com.
